Day 21

Thank you to Tammy Krumbeck for sponsoring this day.

The sound of Sax makes its first friend

Hector Berlioz was one of Adolphe Sax‘s friends who we referred to on the third of December.

Berlioz wrote the following in the Paris “Journal des Débats“ on June 12, 1842, and this is part of what would ultimately become known as the “Birth Certificate” of the saxophone:

“The composers will be very indebted to Mr. Sax when his new instruments are generally employed. If he perseveres, he will meet with the support of all friends of music.“
